Well Go finds ‘New World’

Korean action thriller to bow March 22 in North America

Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired all North American rights to Hoon-jung Park’s Korean action thriller “New World” at Berlin.

The movie, produced by Sanai Pictures and starring Jung-jae Lee, Min-sik Choi, Jung-min Hwang, will open March 22 in 15 markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Vancouver, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Seattle, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, San Diego and Honolulu.

Lee portrays a detective going undercover to infiltrate one of the biggest gang organizations in Korea. He finds himself caught between the crime boss’s number two man (Hwang) and a high-ranking police officer (Choi).

Park also directed and wrote “The Showdown.”

The deal was negotiated between Luna Kim of Finecut and Well Go president Doris Pfardrescher.
