The Tribeca Film Festival has tapped the dozen visual artists, including William Wegman, Jose Parla and Clifford Ross, whose original works will be the trophies handed out to winners of the fest’s competitive categories this year.

A Weimaraner-centric photo by Wegman, an image from photog Ross and a canvas by Parla (whose mural was recently unveiled at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn) will be given to festival award winners alongside works by Stephen Hannock, Curtis Kulig, Joyce Pensato, Dustin Yellin, Erik Parker, David Kratz, Gillian Laub, Robert Longo and Angelina Nasso.

Contempo visual art has long been included in Tribeca activities, and the nonprofit arm of Tribeca manages a grant from the estate of late painter Robert De Niro Sr., the father of thesp and fest co-founder Robert De Niro.

In the coming weeks Tribeca will begin to announce titles on the slate for its 2013 edition, skedded for April 17-28.
