Magnolia Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to Dan Mazer’s romantic comedy “I Give It a Year,” two weeks after its U.S. premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival.

The British movie is produced by Working Title Films. Studiocanal fully financed and released it in the U.K., France and Germany.

I Give It a Year” stars Rose Byrne, Anna Faris, Simon Baker, Rafe Spall, Minnie Driver and Stephen Merchant. The film opened in the U.K. in February.

Story centers on the reality of marriage sinking in after the glamor of a fairy tale romance and wedding.

The theatrical deal was negotiated by Magnolia’s Peter Van Steemburg and Vanessa Saal of Studiocanal.
