Peter Danner’s Funny Balloons has begun to roll out sales on helmer Sebastian Lelio’s Berlin Competition player “Gloria.”

Pic is produced by Chile’s Fabula, whose foreign language Oscar-nommed “No,” distribbed by Sony Pictures Classics, is one of Latin America’s biggest recent arthouse sales hits.

“Gloria” has been picked up in France, Benelux and select territories in Latin America (including for pay TV) after a rough cut nabbed a prize at September’s San Sebastian’s Film in Progress sidebar.

Paris-based Danner will bring “Gloria” to the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival next week. It stars Paulina Garcia as a 58 year old trying to find romance while being forced to accept she’s not getting any younger.

” ‘Gloria’ is an uplifting high-quality film with a strong central performance which really hits the core arthouse audience target,” Danner said.

Helmer Pablo Larrain’s “No,” starring Gael Garcia Bernal as an ad man orchestrating Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet’s ouster from power in a 1988 referendum, was sold by Funny Balloons to 40-plus territories plus a Lap TV Latin American pay TV deal.

Sony Pictures Classics bows “No” Feb. 15. The U.K.’s Network Releasing and Spain’s Golem open “No” Feb. 8, Germany’s Piffl Medien and France’s Wild Bunch Distribution March 6, and Italy’s Bolero and Australia’s Rialto in March/April.
