‘Dark Places’: Charlize Theron Pic Inks Many Sales at AFM

Producer and co-financier Exclusive Media has inked a raft of sales at AFM for “Dark Places,” the adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel starring Charlize Theron.

All-rights deals were completed with Mars (France), Remstar (Canada), CCC (Japan), Svensk (Scandinavia), Ascot Elite (Switzerland), Nu Metro (South Africa), Odeon (Greece), Sam Films (Iceland), Tanweer (Turkey, India and Pakistan), Tandem (Bulgaria), Sold (Eastern Europe), Discovery (Croatia/Slovenia/Serbia), AQS (Czech Republic), Prorom (Hungary and Romania), Monolith (Poland), West (Russia/the Baltic States), Noori (South Korea) and United King (Israel).

Exclusive Media also completed deals with IDC in Latin America, Front Row in the Middle East, PT Amero (Indonesia), Universal Excel (Malaysia), Captive (Philippines), Intercontinental (Hong Kong), M Pictures (Thailand), Noori/Megastar (Vietnam), Cathay (Singapore), CMC (Taiwan), Fox/Star for Southeast Asian TV and Jaguar for planes/ships.

Deals were were announced by Alex Walton, president of international sales and distribution for Exclusive Media.

Dark Places” is co-financed by Exclusive Media and Cuatro Plus Films. Exclusive Media is producing with Stephane Marsil of Hugo Films, Theron’s Denver and Delilah Prods. partners Beth Kono and A.J. Dix; and Mandalay’s Cathy Schulman and Matt Rhodes. Nicholas Hoult, Chloe Grace Moretz, Christina Hendricks and Drea de Matteo also star.
