Seann William Scott will star in high school comedy “Guidance” for Myriad Pictures and Depth of Field, in association with Culmination Prods.

The attachment was announced on the opening day of Cannes, where Myriad is selling worldwide rights.

Scott will portray a down-on-his-luck guidance counselor who alters transcripts to help a student that reminds him of himself. “Guidance” will also star Leslie Bibb, as the new teacher who’s the object of affection for Scott’s character.

“Guidance” is produced by Depth of Field’s Chris & Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano and Tom Butterfield of Culmination Prods. along with director Ira Rosensweig (“Think Tank”) and screenwriter Matteson Perry. Myriad’s Kirk D’Amico will exec produce and Depth of Field’s Dan Balgoyen will co-produce.

Myriad teamed with Scott on the hockey comedy “Goon.”

Project was brought to Myriad by Mark Padilla. Myriad’s Kevin Forester and David Ducar negotiated worldwide sales rights with Miano.

Rosensweig is repped by WME and Caliber Media. Perry is also repped by Caliber.
