U.K. and production company Altered Image and Germany’s Egoli Tossell Film are pacting on a feature pic looking at life in 1970s West Berlin through the eyes of rock stars David Bowie and Iggy Pop.
“Lust for Life,” helmed by Gabriel Range and scripted by Robin French, follows the two music legends’ time in the divided German city during 1976 when creativity and experimentation lived side-by-side with socio-political unrest.
Taking Berlin as its central character the pic will look at the influence on both music and style exerted on and absorbed from Berlin by the two stars.
Co-produced by Range and Nina Schermer of Altered Image and Egoli Tossell’s Jens Meurer, the film has received development funding from national film agencies Creative England and FFA German National Filmboard.
