Nordic Major Svensk Acquires Swedish Producer Tre Vanner

Svensk will produce and co-produce 40 films per year

Svensk Filmindustri, a leading Nordic film studio handling production, distribution and sales, has acquired a majority stake in Stockholm-based producer Tre Vanner.

Bonnier Growth Media,  Svensk’s parent company, acquired a 90-percent share in Tre Vanner, which retains 10-percent.

Tre Vanner CEO Jonas Fors has been tapped to run Svensk, taking over from Rasmus Ramstad, who is stepping down after a 15-year tenure.  Svensk aims at producing and co-producing over 40 films per year for the local and international markets.

The oldest Scandinavian film group, Svensk was founded in 1919 and is headquarted in Stockholm, operating subsids in Denmark, Finland and Norway.  Shingle’s recent credits include Per Fly’s biopic “Waltz For Monica.”

“Svensk is a well-known brand which is highly respected by the global film industry with a catalog of more than 1,200 films,” says Ulrika Saxon, board chairman for Svensk Filmindustri and CEO at Bonnier Growth Media. “To that we’re now adding Tre Vanner, a successful and very exciting production company with a network of creative minds and management with an indisputable track record.

Tre Vanner is a successful film and TV producer which is behind such hit TV shows as “Wallander” and the “Easy Money” movie trilogy.
