New Sparta Acquires Icon Film Distribution

U.K. distrib returns to acquisition trail

Investment company New Sparta has acquired Icon Film Distribution, the U.K. distrib arm of Icon UK Group.

The company will be relaunched, with Ian Dawson tapped as CEO, Norman Humphrey as exec chairman and COO, and Zak Brilliant as head of theatrical.

Deal was inked by Aviv Giladi, Icon UK Group CEO, and Jerome Booth, founder of New Sparta.

The move will see IFD once again acquiring pics for distribution across all media. The deal includes titles released through its output deal with Lionsgate, such as “You’re Next” and “Only God Forgives.”
