Exclusive Media to Shop Metallica Pic

Dane DeHaan concert pic will screen at Cannes

Nigel Sinclair and Guy East’s international sales company Exclusive Media has come on board to shop and screen “Metallica Through the Never” at Cannes.

The film uses Metallica concert footage to tell the story of a crew member whose life gets turned around after he’s sent on a mission during one of Metallica’s raging live shows.

“Chronicle” thesp Dane DeHaan stars alongside band members Lars Ulrich, James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.

Charlotte Huggins produced.

“After wading through multiple international distribution options for our film, we are excited to be partnering up with the folks at Exclusive Media, who we feel understand Metallica and understand our film better than anyone else,” Ulrich said in a statement. “Throw in the cherry-on-top, launching our international sales with a couple of screenings at the film market during a little up-and-coming film festival in Cannes, and it feels like we’re off to a pretty rockin’ start.”

Picturehouse will unspool the pic Sept. 27 on Imax with plans to expand on Oct. 4.
