Jim Gillespie (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) has come on to direct indie teen thriller “Take Down” with lensing set to start in the fall in the U.K.
Producers are Ed Elbert, Sarah Ryan Black, Stefan Brunner, Studio Eight’s Jamie Brown and Alex Brown, as well as Alex Tate. Mimi Steinbauer’s Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales and is introducing the project to buyers at Filmart and at Cannes.
“Take Down” will feature an international cast of actors from the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East who play the roles of wayward offspring of international billionaires, sent by their parents to a tough-love school in the remote wilderness. When the school is taken hostage by a group of sophisticated kidnappers, the kids take the situation into their own hands.
Alexander Ignon (“Ransom”) has written the script and has started working on a sequel.
Elbert’s credits include “Anna and the King,” while Black produced “Restoration” and developed “Ransom.” Brunner is the former chief operating officer of Image Nation Abu Dhabi.
Gillespie is repped by United Agents’ Tim Corrie. Ignon is repped by Nicholas Bogner at Affirmative Entertainment.
