Hayden Christensen Launching Glacier Films Slate

'American Heist' set as first production

Siblings Hayden Christensen and Tove Christensen are launching Glacier Films with an 11-picture slate scheduled to shoot over the next three years.

The venture was announced Thursday in Cannes with the Christensens partnering with Sarik Andreasyan, Gevond Andreasyan and Georgy Malkov. Glacier Films said the coin comes from Russian concern Renovatio but provided no further details.

The slate consists of six films with budgets in the $10 million range, plus five microbudget titles ranging around $1.5 million each.

Production will start June 18 on “American Heist,” a remake of Steve McQueen’s 1959 movie “St. Louis Bank Robbery.” Hayden Christensen will star with Sarik Andreasyan directing.

Tove Christensen, Gevond Andreasyan, Georgy Malkov and Vladimir Poliakov will produce. Story will center on two brothers with checkered pasts being dragged into an ill-fated bank robbery spearheaded by a gang of dangerous criminals.
