LONDON — Christine Eloy has been tapped as managing director of Europa Distribution, which reps more than 130 independent distributors from 28 countries.

Eloy, who starts Sept. 2, was formerly head of sales at Cineart in Belgium.

She replaces Adeline Monzier, who is joining the U.S. office of Unifrance, which works to boost the international perf of French movies. Monzier will also work as a consultant for Europa Distribution.

Europa Distribution acts as a professional network, a think tank and a lobbying org, and is supported by E.U. funding. Recent events include a workshop at Locarno fest on audience engagement. Upcoming events include a workshop at San Sebastian fest on Sept. 23 to discuss legal issues in the digital age. Its annual conference is in Estoril from Nov. 7-9.

The board of Europa Distribution is chaired by Annemie Degryse of Lumiere in Belgium and Jakub Duszynski of Gutek Film in Poland. Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu is honorary prexy.
