Cannes: Scott Di Lalla’s ‘ZoZo’ Gets U.S. Distribution

Image Entertainment picks up rights

Image Entertainment is summoning “I Am ZoZo,” acquiring U.S. rights to helmer-scribe Scott Di Lalla’s Ouija board thriller from Outsider Pictures and One World Studios.

Produced by Zack Coffman (pictured above with Di Lalla) and exec produced by Martin Perlberger, “ZoZo” stars Kelly McLaren, Courtney Foxworthy, Demetrius Sager, Caleb DeBattista and Caleb Courtney. Story centers on five young friends playing with a Ouija board who inadvertently summon a malevolent demon.

Di Lalla, a documentarian (“Choppertown: The Sinners”), filmed “I Am ZoZo” on Super 8mm. The film received the best feature and audience choice awards at last year’s U.S. Super 8 Film Festival.

The deal was negotiated by Mark Ward on behalf of Image, Paul Hudson of Outsider and Coffman of One World.
