Philadelphia-based distributor Artsploitation has nabbed North-American rights to “Matterhorn,” a tragicomedy helmed by Deutch first-timer Diederik Ebbinge.
Produced by Amsterdam shingle Column Film and sold by German sales agent Media Luna, “Matterhorn” won the audience nods at Rotterdam and Moscow.
A dramedy, “Matterhorn” turns on the friendship between Fred, who leads a lonely existence in a small bible-belt village and a stranger who moves into the small town.
Pic will be released theatrically in the U.S. and Canada by Artsploitation, an indie distribution shingle founded by Raymond Murray, who previously launched TLA Releasing.
Media Luna has also sold the pic to Poland, Brazil, Germany and South Korea.
