Sandro Corsaro Joins Fandango as its First Chief Creative Executive

Hire comes as the movie ticketing service adds more content to its platforms.

Sandro Corsaro has joined Fandango as its chief creative executive.

Corsaro will provide strategic and operational leadership for content development and other creative across Fandango’s websites and mobile platforms, while also overseeing the visual design, editorial, content and original video teams. He reports to Fandango president, Paul Yanover.

Fandango created the new post of VP of content and creative as it looks to increase the amount of content it offers movie ticket buyers. It already posts film reviews, commentary, celebrity interviews and trailers, and recently launched its first two original series “The Frontrunners,” and “Weekend Ticket.” Both series are hosted by Fandango chief correspondent Dave Karger.

“Sandro is one of the most talented content creators in the industry,” Yanover said. “I’m thrilled he’ll be bringing his creativity and experience to Fandango, to help enhance the consumer experience and engagement across our platforms, driving business objectives for both ticketing and advertising.”

Corsaro most recently was the executive producer and creator of the Disney XD animated series “Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil,” where he managed the show’s writing, design, animation and casting.  Before that, he was creative director at Disney Interactive where he supervised all online creative across design development, original content, ad sales, user experience and copywriting, as well as overseeing the company’s connected, cross-platform media experiences.

During his tenure at Disney Interactive, Corsaro oversaw two major re-launches of Disney.com.

NBCUniversal-owned Fandango sells tickets to more than 20,000 screens nationwide. Company attracts more than 41 million online and mobile visitors per month.
