Endemol USA Expands Digital Group, Slates Internet Originals

Firm taps former Katalyst staffers

Endemol USA has tapped three digital content execs, each of which has worked for Ashton Kutcher’s Katalyst Media, as TV production firm boosts its focus on original Internet video series.

Firm’s hires are Kris Ordaz, veep of original digital content, formerly head of strategy and marketing for Katalyst; Tina Elmo, director of development of original digital content, who hails from Sundance Prods. and Katalyst; and Nicole Snell, director of production of original digital content.

Ordaz reports to John Roberts, senior VP of digital media and commercial affairs. Elmo and Snell report to Ordaz. All are based in L.A.

Endemol USA said new hires show commitment to developing its original digital entertainment business. New digital series include one with comedienne and “SNL” alumna Cheri Oteri that parodies reality TV; launch of a “Fear Factor” digital YouTube channel; and forthcoming docu-series about women in the military.

“The formation of this new original digital entertainment group underscores Endemol USA’s strategic commitment to developing quality digital entertainment, an important area of growth,” Roberts said in a statement.

Endemol USA flagship TV series include “Big Brother” (CBS), “Wipeout” (ABC) and syndicated daytime show “Steve Harvey.”
