Red Arrow Strikes Deal With Screenz

Int'l distrib to rep second-screen specialist outside North America

International TV distrib Red Arrow Intl. has pacted with leading cross-media specialist Screenz to rep its products and services exclusively in Europe, and offer its portfolio outside Europe, excluding North America.

Screenz develops second-screen apps to accompany traditional TV shows, such as gameshows and reality formats. It has created a suite of complementary digital products for Red Arrow’s formats, such as a touchless cooking app for ABC’s cooking competition show “The Taste.”

Screenz is repped by ICM Partners in North America.

Red Arrow Intl. and Screenz will develop tailor-made digital media strategies for broadcasters, and support their strategic approach toward the digital market. The goal is to extend the broadcaster’s brands to second screens and highlight the live character of entertainment shows.

Jens Richter, managing director at Red Arrow Intl., said: “Engaging digital natives, building brands and finding new ways for sponsoring and monetization — these are the challenges of our industry. By joining forces with Screenz, who have a stellar track record of delivering tailor-made, state-of-the-art digital solutions, we together can now provide broadcasters with second-screen products and consultancy on a whole new level.”

Eli Uzan, Screenz chairman, added: “As the TV industry is changing, broadcasters need to quickly adapt to the new ecosystem seeking other ways to deliver their content, creating new digital assets along the way, new business models, new streams of revenue, using the power of television to raise awareness of these products and increase their use.”

Screenz is a joint venture between Israel’s biggest commercial broadcaster Keshet and technology content company The Box.

Red Arrow Intl. co-finances and co-produces international drama, such as Netflix’s “Lilyhammer” and “Jo,” starring Jean Reno, as well as repping format franchises like “Benidorm Bastards,” which has 25 local versions, including NBC’s “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.”

Red Arrow Intl. is part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, which incorporates 18 TV production companies in nine countries. Red Arrow Ent. Group is owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Group, one of Europe’s leading media groups.
