Abu Dhabi Media Summit To Look At New Digital Opportunities

Event will be held October 22-24

The fourth Abu Dhabi Media Summit has set “Leveraging the Digital Age” as its theme, with speakers from Twitter, Payleven, edX, Walt Disney International, Viacom, Discovery Networks International, Wipro, Codecademy, ArabNet and Oasis500, among execs expected to attend.

Names of this year’s keynote speakers have yet to be announced.

In past years they have included Bill Gates, Rupert Murdoch, Eric Schmidt, and James Cameron.

The high-profile pow-wow examining the latest trends in media and entertainment is expanding its scope to the e-learning and e-commerce fields this year.

There will be presentations on new industry trends from management consulting firms Booz &Co. and McKinsey & Co.

“The summit’s focus on media entrepreneurship and youth in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region will provide Arab youth and students the opportunity to engage with media leaders and fuel the increasing appeal of the media industry as a sophisticated career choice, which is critical to Abu Dhabi’s long-term ambitions for a sustainable media industry,” said Abu Dhabi Media Summit chairman H.E. Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, who is also chairman of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority, in a statement.

Organized by Twofour54, which is the Media Zone’s commercial arm, the summit, held at the Yas Viceroy, will run October 22-24, dovetailing with the October 24-November 2 Abu Dhabi Film Festival.
