“Oprah’s Lifeclass” and “Top Chef’s Last Chance Kitchen” were among the immersive and interactive digital media programs that will receive juried awards at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony on Sept. 15.
The honors were announced Thursday by Lori H. Schwartz and Seth Shapiro, interactive media peer group governors of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. For juried awards, a panel of professionals screens all entries and can, by unanimous vote, award any number of Emmys per category.
“Last Chance Kitchen” was honored for creative achievement in multiplatform storytelling, while YouTube offering “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” earned the kudo for creative achievement in interactive media for an original interactive program.
“Oprah’s Lifeclass” received interactive media honors for social TV experience, while Nickelodeon’s “The Nick App” was tapped for interactive media — user experience and visual design.
The Creative Arts Emmys will be televised in an edited two-hour special Sept. 21 on FXX, the night before the Primetime Emmys.
