Sylvester Stallone Calls Bruce Willis ‘Greedy and Lazy’ on Twitter

The Expendables 2

Sounding more like a squabbling tween girl than a beefed up action star, Sylvester Stallone slammed Bruce Willis on Tuesday, calling the fellow “Expendables” star “greedy and lazy.”

The harsh words came soon after Stallone’s Twitter announcement that Harrison Ford would replace the “Die Hard” star in  “The Expendables 3” — something Stallone claims he’d been wanting to happen for years.

Stallone has starred as Barney Ross in all “Expendables” films and directed the first installment. Willis played Mr. Church in the films. It’s unclear at this time whether Ford will portray this character or if he will have a new role.

  1. DTLAGuy says:

    Wasn’t Sly referring to himself?

  2. Maxi Pad says:

Hell yes! Cynthia Rothrock for Expendables 3. Willis lazy? Who cares? Stallone pissed? Big deal!

  3. Jerome Maida says:

A little unprofessional..and if Sly wants someone who is definitely NOT Greedy OR Lazy, he should finally cast Cynthia Rothrock!!

  4. Brenda123 says:

I am really surprised in Sly’s behavior here. Another acting professional opts out of his next production, so he slams this professional publically on Twitter. Negotiating details should remain at the negotiating table.

  5. CM says:

I think Sly could be right – if he wasn’t lazy then why did he agree to make the latest Die Hard movie !

  6. Justin says:

Seriously people? You cannot compare Bruce Willis to Sly. Sly is one of the worst actors still allowed to hang around Hollywood. I’m sure the real story goes something like Willis wondering why he is even talking about doing another movie with the likes of Sly and Dolph Lundgren.

  7. Suzanne says:

I have liked Bruce Willis since his “Moonlighting” days,he is a talented actor and a real person.I don’t know the reason it seems to make people feel good to Slam others just so they can make themselves look good!Maybe Sly should go into politics where they do that all of the time!

  8. kurt says:

It’s hard to find fault with Stallone’s comments, after seeing Willis’ interviews. He doesn’t seem to give a rat’s behind any longer.

  9. mikeamo says:

Still waiting for Sly to add Cynthia Rothrock to the cast.

  10. Steve says:

This is far from the first time people have complained about Bruce Willis. I’m sorry but I have to take Sly’s side, he’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last.

  11. Steve Tapp says:

Isn’t Willis some bartender Cybill Shepherd picked up and elevated to actor? We respect all these actors/actresses too much.

  12. TM says:

Willis has a long standing reputation for being an A-hole. I’m glad Stallone is calling him on it, since most people don’t have the power to do so without career repercussions.

  13. SG says:

Seriously? The Expendables movies are silly crap anyway. Does it really matter?

  14. Jason says:

Bruce Willis does seem lazy you can tell in his movie he even seems lazy,he hasn’t been that great recently in any movie like not even trying and just picking any script that comes along.

    • davids says:

Moonrise Kingdom and Looper. Both from last year and he’s great in them.

    • jedi77 says:

I agree his acting can seem pretty lazy these days, but the dude makes like 4 films a year, so I wouldn’t exactly call him lazy as such. He keeps himself busy, his agent on the other hand, seems to be lazy as hell.

  15. Jhanelle Lee says:

That is so rude of Sylvester Stallone! Just because you can understand what Bruce Willis saying doesn’t mean you can slam on twitter! Keep your skin on Sylvester!

  16. Hope Suinger says:

Your lede is insulting to tween girls, most of whom are smarter than the stereotypical “mean girls” image perpetrated in this industry. Using that stereotype only serves to further harm the image and status of women.

    • jedi77 says:

Nope, they do it all by themselves, flocking to see Twilight movies and the like.
It’s hard to harm an image that is already associated with a love for Twilight movies.
