The Screen Actors Guild Awards will receive the Environmental Media Association’s Green Production Award next month at the 23rd Annual Environmental Media Awards, the orgs announced Tuesday.

SAG is being recognized for their ability to adopt such practices as neutralizing carbon emissions and providing clean/green power for various SAG Awards lighting and electrical needs.

“Environmental Media Association has worked with the SAG Awards on the their greening efforts for over five years,” said EMA President Debbie Levin. “They have continued to raise the bar each year with new innovations and their commitment to a sustainable production, so it is extremely gratifying to honor them with the EMA Green Production Award.”

The Environmental Media Awards, held Oct. 19 at Warner Bros. in Burbank, will also showcase film and television programs that have carried a positive, environmentally friendly message in the past season.
