Fox Channels to Wear Marvel’s ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’

SE Asian networks to air four Disney series

MUMBAI – Fox International Channels has acquired a quartet of TV shows from Disney Media Distribution for its TV channels in South East Asia.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will play on the Fox Channel in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and The Philippines and on the STAR Movies channel in Taiwan.

FIC has also picked up “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” a spin-off from the popular fantasy-drama series “Once Upon a Time”; sitcom “Trophy Wife”; and the upcoming “Killer Women” crime series about a former beauty queen’s rise in the Texas Rangers on which Sofia Vergara serves as executive producer.

The deals were announced on the first day of the CASBAA pay-TV convention in Hong Kong.

FIC already has another deal with Disney giving it exclusive first window pay-TV rights to the Marvel-branded live action features on FOX Movies Premium. Titles under that deal include “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
