Aussie, Canuck, Dutch Projects Win Int’l Digital Emmys

'CSI' creator Zuiker takes Pioneer Prize

The Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced tonight the winners of the Intl. Digital Emmy Awards at a ceremony at MipTV in Cannes, organized in partnership with Reed Midem and sponsored by the Bell Fund of Canada.

“DirtGirlWorld … Dig It All,” a transmedia project from Oz featuring apps that kids can use in nature, took the children & young people category. Canada’s “Guidestones,” a series about two student journos who uncover a global conspiracy while investigating a murder, won for fiction. The Netherlands’ “Entertainment Experience,” which tracks the development and production process of a user-generated pic by helmer Paul Verhoeven, nabbed the non-fiction award.

Multihyphenate Anthony E. Zuiker, the creator of the “CSI” franchise, took home the Pioneer Prize for his innovative contributions to the field of digital entertainment with his online thriller, “Cybergeddon.” Past recipients include “The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers” creator Jon M. Chu and “Heroes” creator-exec producer Tim Kring.

Ceremony was attended by more than 300 international execs from the TV, broadband and mobile industries.
