Comic-Con: ‘World of Warcraft’ Movie to Film in 2014

Legendary Pictures will begin production on “Warcraft,” based on Activision Blizzard’s hit videogame franchise “World of Warcraft,” early next year under the direction of Duncan Jones (“Source Code”).

Company made the announcement at Comic-Con on Saturday.

Project has long been a passion project of Legendary chief Thomas Tull.

Legendary played a “mood piece” of live action footage of a human warrior facing off in battle against a beast in an otherworldly desert setting.

Jones called the opportunity “to start from scratch and build a world” an “opportunity of a lifetime.”

Legendary also showcased new footage for “Godzilla,” “Seventh Son” and “300: Rise of an Empire,” which Warner Bros will release.
