LOS ANGELES — Senior executives from South Korea’s SK Planet and CJ Entertainment and film makers Shekhar Kapur (pictured) and Anthony Chen are among the key speakers at four days of conferences to be held in Singapore in December as part of the Asia Television Forum.
ATF and the accompanying ScreenSingapore convention will be held at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Dec. 4-6, while the conference series gets underway on Dec. 3.
SK Planet’s Tommy Lee will highlight the business model behind Asia’s version of advertising supported on-demand video streaming. Vivian Yin, chief representative and deputy general manager of Star China International Media, and the UK’s Mike Beale, director of international formats, ITV Studios will debate the changing shape of the international formats market.
The spotlight will be on South East Asia with Shinjiro Nishimura of Japan’s Nikkatsu and Choi Yeonu, VP of international film financing and production, CJ Entertainment outlining their respective companies’ expansion plans in the region.
Feature film-driven ScreenSingapore will include on-stage interviews with “Elizabeth” director Shekhar Kapur and recent Singapore discovery Anthony Chen, director of Cannes Palme d’Or winner “Ilo Ilo.”
Village Roadshow Asia will host a session on making films in China for the China market and beyond covering topics such as project selection and script development; financing and production management; and marketing and distribution.
