Wendy Williams Prods. has partnered with de Passe Jones Entertainment to develop projects for TV and film.
Projects will be produced under the “Wendy Williams Presents” banner and target a diverse audience. Williams plans to use her syndie daytime talkshow as a promotional platform. De Passe Jones Entertainment, headed by producers Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones, anticipates developing telepics, miniseries and features through the venture.
“The goal of this strategic partnership,” said de Passe Jones co-chairman Madison Jones, “is to bring the very best movies of every ilk to the general public and greatly enhance the diversity, content and quality of offerings currently available.”
Williams hosts the Debmar Mercury-distribbed “Wendy Williams Show” yakker that has blossomed into a daytime player, particularly with young urban femmes, since its 2008 preem.
“We are looking forward to expanding her brand and audience in all areas of filmed and scripted entertainment,” said de Passe said.
De Passe Jones inked a three-year first-look feature pact with Universal Pictures last October. Shingle at present is developing a Martin Luther King Jr. biopic with Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks.
