Will Smith to host ‘Kids’ Choice Awards’

Annual Nick special always a top draw

Will Smith has been tabbed to host the Nickelodeon “Kids’ Choice Awards.”

Annual tyke-friendly kudocast, which is celebrating its 25th anni, is set to air March 31 from the Galen Center at USC.

Last year’s “KCA” telecast, which was hosted by Jack Black, drew a healthy 7.3 million viewers.

The cabler often selects high-profile actors to present different categories on the special, and the thesps are often eager to participate and use that exposure as promotion for their upcoming bigscreen summer releases. Smith is toplining sequel “Men in Black III,” which will be released May 25.

“Kids’ Choice Awards” is produced by Nickelodeon Prods. and Bob Bain Prods. Bain, Marjorie Cohn and Paula Kaplan are exec producers.
