Bill Myers is exiting his post as prexy and chief operating officer of Starz Entertainment.

Myers’ departure was not unexpected given the turnover at Starz during the two years since Chris Albrecht took the reins as prexy-CEO.

Myers spent the past decade at Starz, serving as COO since 2006. In that role he had oversight of sales, marketing, programming and administrative operations.

Myers has had a long run working for companies affiliated with John Malone, chairman of Starz parent company Liberty Media. Before Starz, Myers worked for Malone’s cable giant Tele-Communications Inc. and Liberty-affiliated satellite ventures.

Albrecht, the former HBO topper, has gradually assembled his own exec team based out of Starz’s Beverly Hills office. Soon after he joined Starz in early 2010, Albrecht recruited HBO alum Carmi Zlotnik to serve as his key lieutenant steering programming and production operations.

In a statement, Albrecht praised Myers for having “contributed greatly in driving Starz’s growth and success.”
