Pullman, Snow cast in NBC pilot ‘1600 Penn’

Josh Gad already part of White House-set laffer

Bill Pullman and Brittany Snow have been cast in the NBC comedy pilot “1600 Penn.”

Logline centers on the out-of-control oldest son of a dysfunctional family who returns home and becomes not only its biggest liability but also the glue holding everyone together. The twist is that this family resides in the White House.

Pullman will play the president. Josh Gad, who starred in the Broadway production of “The Book of Mormon,” was previously cast to play the son while Snow will play his younger sister.

“1600 Penn” is from 20th Century Fox TV. Gad will exec produce with Jason Winer (“Modern Family”) and Jon Lovett, who was formerly a speech writer with the Obama administration. Winer will direct the pilot.

Pullman’s latest foray in TV was on Starz’ “Torchwood: Miracle Day.” Snow’s most recent work includes a role in the Peacock drama “Harry’s Law.”
