Gordon Crawford, AMC Networks and AMC topper Josh Sapan will each be honored by the Paley Center for Media with prizes for innovation and excellence at the org’s annual Los Angeles benefit on Oct. 22.

Crawford, who is retiring at the end of this year from his duties as senior VP of Capital Research and Management, is a Paley Center trustee. He has built a reputation as a widely respected media investor while working with Time Warner, News Corp., Comcast, Lionsgate and Liberty Media.

Paley Center prexy Pat Mitchell said the org is “privileged to have this opportunity to acknowledge his contributions to the Paley Center for Media and to the technology industry.”

Mitchell also praised Sapan’s “innovative leadership” at AMC and its umbrella of networks that include AMC, Sundance, IFC and We TV, calling AMC “one of today’s most influential entertainment companies.”

Proceeds from the event will go to the Paley Center, including its preservation and archival digitization efforts.
