LONDON — ITV Studios has sold the format to “The Audience,” its keenly anticipated reality show, to Oz’s Network Ten.
This means “The Audience,” which bows soon in the U.K. on Channel 4, will be in production in five territories, including the U.S., where a pilot has been made for CBS by ITV Studios.
TF1 has commissioned a series of “The Audience” from ITV Studios France, and a deal has been secured with RTL 4 in the Netherlands.
In the show, which was created by U.K. shingle The Garden, a member of the public has “a life-changing decision to make,” and for a week is followed by 50 people who draw on their collective experience to help solve the protagonist’s problem.
Paul Buccieri, managing director of ITV Studios Intl. and prexy-CEO of ITV Studios America, said: “(The show) sees an individual who is at a crossroads in their life draw on the wisdom of a crowd to solve their predicament.”
