‘Overhaulin” returns on Velocity

Auto restoration series had earlier run on TLC

Velocity is speeding ahead with a new season of “Overhaulin’.”

Car-centric series has received a renewal from the Discovery-owned cabler that caters to an upscale male aud. New season is set to premiere in the fourth quarter.

“Overhaulin'” takes beat-up cars and trucks and gives them a refurbished new spin, revitalizing the lives of their owners in the process.

Show, produced by WATV Prods., is hosted by Chip Foose, who also leads the group of auto restorers. Foose, Lenny Shabes and David Lee exec produce.

The series first appeared on Discovery’s TLC net from 2004-09; it was a viewer favorite there. Discovery brought it back, thinking it was a solid fit for Velocity viewers.

“‘Overhaulin'” is exactly the type of programming we want to bring to Velocity because it fits with our genre of auto-themed shows geared toward the upscale male and is sure to be a ratings driver,” said senior VP Bob Scanlon.

Velocity was rebranded in the U.S. from HD Theater last fall.
