Telepictures Prods. has upped David McGuire to exec vice president of current programming. He will continue to report to company topper Hilary Estey McLoughlin.

22-year vet of the shingle, McGuire has previously served as senior veep of programming and development and prior to that he was Telepictures’ VP of programming and development. He has played a key role in the success of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and its subsequent franchies, forging relationships between the yakker and major advertisers such as General motors, JC Penney and Target.

In his new post, McGuire will continue to oversee advertising integration and current programming activities for the shingle’s slate of daytime skeins including “Ellen,” “TMZ,” “Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court,” as well as the launch of game show “Let’s Ask America” on Scripps stations this fall.

“David has grown up at Telepictures starting as a production assistant at ‘Jenny Jones’ 22 years ago,” said Etsey McLoughlin. “He has done a masterful job with ‘Ellen,’ which just had its best year ever, building our integration business while continuing to successfully launch, grow and reinvent our shows.”
