Lionsgate-TISA j.v. pact with New Films

Deal covers Latin American market

The recently formed Lionsgate-TISA Television International joint venture has entered into an exclusive agreement to represent at least 20 new theatrical films from New Films International in the Latin American marketplace.

Deal provides Lionsgate TISA Television International with exclusive television rights across all platforms including free, pay, PPV, VOD and mobile.

First titles to be included under the new pact include “27 Club,” “A Novel Romance,” “Age of Kali,” “American Cowslip,” “Brother’s Justice,” “Burning Palms,” “Dead Awake,” “Flying Lessons,” “Petunia,” “Satin,” “Savings Grace B. Jones,” Score: A Hockey Musical,” “Sister’s Keeper,” Trophy” and “What Just Happened.”

Agreement was announced Friday by Peter Iacono, Lionsgate Television International, Maryann Pasante SVP sales, Lionsgate-TISA Television International and Nesim Hason, president, New Films International.

“The timing of this new agreement neatly coincides with the growing importance of the Latin American television market,” said Iacono.

Lionsgate-TISA Television International currently distributes Lionsgate Television’s series including “Mad Men,” Weeds” and “Boss” and the company’s feature films to television in Latin America. In addition, the venture distributes feature films from the Lionsgate/Televisa joint venture company Pantelion Films and represents third parties in the region.
