Pair moved up to senior VP's of scripted programming

MTV has promoted Justin Levy and Clay Spencer to senior VP’s of scripted programming.

Pair have been behind cabler’s scripted successes “Teen Wolf” and “Awkward,” both of which were recently greenlit for third seasons with supersized episode orders.

Upcoming scripted fare includes Brit import “The Inbetweeners,” which debuts Monday; “Underemployed,” from “Dirty Sexy Money” creator Craig Wright, which launches Oct. 16; and “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous,” which Bo Burnham.

Recent scripted series that failed to make it beyond one season were “Skins” and “I Just Want My Pants Back.”

“Justin and Clay have taken our scripted efforts to a whole new level in just a few short years,” said David Janollari, MTV’s head of programming. “They know how to shepherd a showrunner’s creative vision to inspired, and successful, results.”

Since arriving from Peter Berg’s Film 44 shingle, Levy has been at MTV since 2008. Spencer previously worked at the Greenblatt Janollari Studio.

Other promotions on the scripted side are Anne-Marie McGintee and Dana Gotlieb-Carter, who were raised to directors of development and current, respectively.
