AEG prexy and CEO Tim Leiweke will receive Variety’s inaugural Sports & Entertainment Leadership Award.

Leiweke will be presented with the honor at the July 12 Variety Sports Entertainment Summit (presented in association with Sports Video Group), where he will appear for a keynote conversation.

Under Leiweke’s guidance for the past 17 years, AEG’s presence in sports and entertainment has spread to pro franchises including the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings and the hosting of such events as the Grammys, Emmys and ESPYs at facilities including the Nokia Theater and Staples Center.

Leiweke has also been overseeing the development of downtown Los Angeles’ L.A. Live entertainment district and a potential new professional football stadium.

The Sports Entertainment Summit will be held at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. Other keynote speakers will be UFC prexy Dana White and skateboarder/entrepreneur Tony Hawk. More than 40 other key figures from the world of sports and entertainment have committed to appear on the summit’s various panels.
