Disney Channel has greenlit a second season of “Jessie,” starring Debby Ryan, and has also ordered a script for an original telepic based on the series.
Airing at 8 p.m. Fridays, “Jessie” premiered Sept. 30 and ranks No. 1 for television audience in the 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 demos. Kevin Chamberlin, Peyton List, Karan Brar, Cameron Boyce and Skai Jackson co-star.
Pamela Eells O’Connell created and exec produces “Jessie” for It’s A Laugh Prods. and will develop the movie with co-exec producer Adam Lapidus.
The announcement comes as Disney Channel Worldwide heads into its kids upfront presentation Tuesday in New York. Ryan will be among several Disney Channel stars participating.
