Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV have optioned the nonfiction book “Island Practice: Cobblestone Rash, Underground Tom, and Other Adventures of a Nantucket Doctor” for development as a TV series.
Book by New York Times science writer Pam Belluck tells the story of Tim Lepore, an offbeat surgeon in Nantucket who serves as a jack-of-all-trades for the island’s residents. “Practice” drew interest from multiple studios and sparked competitive bidding. Title was published by PublicAffairs Books last month.
Pact for the TV adaptation rights was brokered on behalf of Inkwell Management by Hotchkiss and Associates and attorney Tom Collier of Sloane Offer.
