BERLIN — RTL Germany has tapped Frank Hoffmann as managing director of its flagship channel RTL Television, Germany’s leading commercial network.

Currently managing director of RTL-owned outlet Vox, Hoffmann will take the helm at RTL Television in February, replacing Anke Schaeferkordt, who will focus her energies on her dual stewardship of parent RTL Group, where she serves as co-CEO with Guillaume de Posch, and core subsid RTL Germany.

“Frank is a passionate content man with an excellent sense for programming,” said Schaeferkordt. “He has impressively demonstrated his professionalism and management skills at Vox in recent years.”

Replacing Hoffmann at Vox will be Bernd Reichart, who has served as managing director of RTL’s Antena 3 channels in Spain since 2007.

RTL Germany controls or has stakes in nine channels, including RTL 2, tyke web Super RTL, news channel N-TV, RTL Nitro and three pay TV channels, in addition to RTL Television and Vox.
