FX orders fourth season of ‘Archer’

Exec producers also sign pact with FX Prods.

FX has ordered a fourth season of toon laffer hit “Archer” while also signing exec producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson and their shingle to an overall production deal.

“Archer,” currently in its third season with four episodes remaining, is faring well for the cabler. In total viewers, the series is averaging 2 million viewers, which is up 32% from a year ago. In the 18-49 demo, 1.6 million are tuning in (a 44% uptick).

“It was an easy decision to order more ‘Archer,'” said Nick Grad, FX’s exec VP of original programming. “It has deservedly grown beyond its initial cult following to become both a critical and ratings success. It is a true asset to the FX comedy roster.”

FX has ordered 13 episodes for the fourth season.

Reed and Thompson’s Floyd County Prods.’ deal with FX Prods. is for two years with an option for an additional two. That will keep the pair on “Archer” as well as any new projects they develop.

FX Prods. has one other overall deal. Studio have pacted with the producers of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”: Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, and their RCG Prods.

Other skeins from FX Prods. include “Louie,” “Wilfred” and “The League.”

Half-hour “Archer,” about an international spy agency, features the voice talent of H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler and Jessica Walter.
