FX is reuniting with “Rescue Me” star and exec producer Denis Leary, ordering comedy pilot “Bronx Warrants.”
Leary is exec producing “Bronx” with fellow former “Rescue Me” exec producer Jim Serpico. Dean Lorey (“Arrested Development”) created the project and is also exec producing.
The laffer centers on a group of errant detectives who serve outstanding warrants. FX Prods. is producing.
“We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with Denis, Jim and Tom through seven years of ‘Rescue Me,’ and I believe they found the perfect project to continue that relationship,” FX series development topper and FX Prods. exec veep Eric Schrier said. “Dean Lorey has taken this unique police squad and created a hilarious and surprising world of characters and situations.”
Said Lorey: “We loved this show from the second real life Bronx Warrants cops David Joglar and Richard Wetzel shared their insane exploits with us, and we can’t wait to get shooting.”
Leary also has a comedy pilot in development for USA, “Sirens.”
