Franklin to Shine USA programmer post

Oz native will relocate to Los Angeles for new role

Paul Franklin is relocating from Australia to Los Angeles for a newly created position as Shine USA’s exec VP of programming.

Franklin will report to president Eden Gaha. Among the series Shine USA produces are “The Biggest Loser” for NBC, “MasterChef” for Fox and “Tabatha Takes Over” on Bravo.

Franklin most recently oversaw the Australian version of “The Biggest Loser,” “Junior MasterChef” and “The Renovators.” Previously, as head of factual entertainment for FremantleMedia Australia, he was a production partner on “MasterChef Australia,” the country’s highest-rated series.

Gaha said: “Paul’s established knowledge of our existing slate of unscripted programs will be invaluable as we focus on the continued growth of those shows and the development of new projects.”
