Fox to extend primetime sked on Tuesday

'X Factor' to air from 9:30-10:30 p.m.

Fox will extend its primetime sked by a half-hour on Tuesday to allow viewers to catch up with the “X Factor” seg that was tabled this past Wednesday because of its baseball playoff coverage.

The network will stick with its regular 8-9:30 p.m. comedy sked of “Raising Hope,” “Ben and Kate” and “New Girl,” followed from 9:30-10:30 by an “X Factor” seg in which the judges set their four finalists. “The Mindy Project,” which airs at 9:30 p.m., will return the following week.

This week’s two-hour Wednesday episode of “X Factor,” the final one scheduled before the show’s World Series break, only aired in part due to a lengthy rain delay; Fox aired a repeat on the West Coast.

In addition to a recap of Britney Spears and L.A. Reid’s respective four finalists, Tuesday’s hour will also include segments from the Judges’ Homes episode, which never aired Wednesday due to baseball rain delay.

Tuesday will see the first three-way comedy battle of the season, with Fox’s “New Girl” and NBC’s new “Go On” taking on ABC’s returning “Happy Endings,” which debuts on its new night.
