Fox’s ‘Touch’ to get global TV push

Coordinated launch set for more than 100 markets

The new Fox series “Touch” is getting an unprecedented global push.

More than 100 countries will air the new Kiefer Sutherland drama from 20th Century Fox TV within the span of one week in March as part of a coordinated effort with the backing of worldwide sponsorship from Unilever.

“Unilever is thrilled to be part of this inaugural global media sponsorship with News Corp.,” said Luis Di Como, senior VP of global media at Unilever. “It’s the very type of sponsorship that enables us to connect and engage consumers with one of our billion-euro global brands.”

Sutherland will take part in a global promotional tour culminating with a media event in New York on March 18. While “Touch” doesn’t premiere in the U.S. until March 19, the pilot episode will get a sneak peek on Fox this Wednesday.

Among the participating programmers are Global Television in Canada, Sky 1 in the U.K., ProSieben in Germany, Yes TV in Israel and Channel One in Russia. Fox Intl. Channels will launch the series in 64 countries throughout Latin America, Asia and Europe.

“Touch” is produced by Chernin Entertainment and Tailwind Prods. in association with 20th TV.
