Fox orders up more ‘MasterChef’

Net gives fourth season to summer reality show

Fox is giving a fourth season to summer reality staple “MasterChef.”

In its third season, the Shine America-produced cuisine competition show is up 8% in the 18-49 demo and 9% in total viewers versus a year ago, according to Nielsen. Series is exec produced by on-screen chef Gordon Ramsay, Elisabeth Murdoch, Eden Gaha, Robin Ashbrook, Adeline Ramage Rooney, Patricia Llewellyn and Ben Adler.

In other announcements made Monday at the net’s Television Critics Assn. presentation at the BevHilton, freshman sitcoms “The Mindy Project” and “Ben and Kate” will receive a preview across several digital platforms for two weeks beginning Aug. 27. Both shows officially premiere Sept. 25.

Not to get lost among the new series set to launch, net is also looking to give returning laffer “New Girl” some added visibility and will offer all 24 episodes of the Zooey Deschanel starrer on Yahoo starting July 30.

In casting news, Dean Geyer and Jacob Artist have been added to the upcoming season of “Glee.”
