Fox lands comedy from ‘Parks and Rec’ duo

Net gives pilot prod'n commitment to Universal TV project

In one of the bigger pilot commitments of the 2013 development cycle to date, Fox has given a pilot production commitment to an untitled Universal TV project from the “Parks and Recreation” duo of Mike Schur and Dan Goor.

Untitled detective comedy to be produced by U TV and 3 Arts Entertainment had been sought after by multiple networks before it landed settled down at Fox. Net made a hefty offer and firm production commitment to land the single-camera laffer, which follows a group of NYPD detectives working in a precinct at the very edge of Gotham. Goor and Schur are co-writer the script. The pair, along with David Miner, will also exec produce.

Schur has also just inked a two year overall deal with Universal TV that will keep him on board as showrunner of “Parks and Rec” as well as developing new projects.
