Longtime 20th Century Fox TV exec Jane Francis has been upped to exec veepee at Fox 21, the studio’s cable and alternative production unit.
Francis oversees comedy, drama and animation development for the division, as well as unscripted programming for network outlets. She reports to Fox 21 topper Bert Salke.
“Jane is smart, she’s aggressive and her relationships within the creative community are second to none,” Salke said. “She is someone I rely on greatly as we look to continue to grow Fox 21.”
Francis joined 20th TV in 1997 and has been a top exec at Fox 21 since its inception in 2004. She’s been instrumental in shepherding Fox 21 series including Showtime’s “Homeland” and FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.” She also aided the company’s expansion into the animation biz.
Before shifting to Fox 21, Francis rose through the ranks of 20th’s drama department, working on such shows as “Roswell,” “Judging Amy” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”
