Elite World, the world’s largest modeling agency, has teamed up with Larry Namer’s Metan Development Group to co-produce a 12-part, reality show “China’s Elite Model,” scheduled to bow in summer 2013.
Each week, the show will focus on a different aspect of the industry, from what it takes to be an Elite model, to the selection process, scouting in Beijing and Shanghai as well as the southern, western and northern regions of China, and intensive training sessions in New York and Elite’s Paris headquarters.
Elite recently launched its presence in Shanghai, and Elite World CEO Stefania Valenti said the show would give the agency an opportunity to reach a wider audience in China.
“Elite has big plans in China: the opening of the Shanghai office is the first of many steps to come in the development of our group in China. Elite wishes to not only assist in the deployment of brands in the fashion, luxury and beauty sectors in China but also to contribute to the development of the Chinese ‘fashion system’,” she said.
