CBS’ longtime music placement maestro Amy Osler was promoted to senior vice president of music on Tuesday, studio prexy David Stapf announced.

At CBS, Osler will continue to work with showrunners and music supervisors to coordinate creative music integration with the net’s shows — ranging from simple song placements to guest appearances and co-promotions — as well as serving as a liaison to the music industry. She will continue to report to Stapf.

The Eye’s upcoming fall season will feature several examples of Osler’s handiwork, with “CSI: NY” partnering with Green Day to feature songs off of the group’s upcoming triple album, and Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett performing on “Blue Bloods.” Over on the CW, Osler negotiated a performance from summer breakout star Carly Rae Jepson to air on the season premiere of “90210.”

“It’s always about creating and finding that perfect musical moment,” Osler said. “Music has become such an exciting character on TV, and I’m fortunate to get to work with such great shows.”

Osler has maintained an active role in coordinating musical appearances since joining the net in 2006 from Columbia Records, where she spent nine years, eventually serving as VP of television marketing.
